2010 Chateau Belle-Vue La Renaissance Mount Lebanon

After years abroad, Naji Boutros returned to his ancestral home of Bhamdoun, 20 miles east of Beirut, to start a winery and revitalize the area devastated by civil war. The La Renaissance is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown at elevations between 3,000 and 4,000 feet. Big, structured with a firm acid core, the cassis and plum fruit is elegant and rich. Try something new from a part of the world where it takes great effort to produce a bottle of wine.
