It's an excellent food wine, it pairs well with all you can imagine it would, but if you really want to let it shine, something earthy like truffles or mushrooms with add depth to the aromatic pleasure. On the nose, you get bright, fresh, high-toned red cherries and berries, with notes of earth, forest floor, and tobacco leaf. The palate is youthful and vigorous, its sturdy structure framing the nuances expressed by the fruit. The finish is long with medium tannins and plenty of zip. You'd think we were describing at $50 bottle of Barolo, but we are not. It's $26.79 per bottle.
