2014 Chateau Fleur Cardinale Saint Emilion

Availability: Out of stock

Up in the rolling hills due east of Saint-Emilion, specifically in the Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse area, lies the Decoster family’s jewel of a vineyard, Fleur Cardinale. After having sold their porcelain business, the Decosters purchased the château in 2001. They enlisted the help of neighbor Jean-Luc Thunevin (Ch. Valandraud), who consults with the winemaking. We’ve been on board with their wines from the beginning, as they represent great quality and very fair pricing. 2014 is another in a long line of quality for price values. It’s an elegant offering with complex aromas. Truffles, brambly plummy fruit, and mocha mingle above the glass, and the palate is easy and harmonious. It has a silky mouth feel and expressive finish. This one is already firing on all cylinders, and will last another 15+ years in the cellar.
