Racy and juicy, it’s a medium bodied Syrah with lively freshness. The fruit is crunchy and spicy, think lush, jammy plums meeting black olives. There’s plenty of zip which carries it to a harmonious, elegant finish.
Known for his primo vines in both Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, Stéphane Pichat has some vines growing just outside these famous sites. This Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes, comes from a vineyard that borders Côte-Rôtie. Considering the difference in price, no wonder it’s the first of his wines to sell out at the winery each vintage.
A fantastic food wine, this Syrah works with a lot of different dishes. Duck breast, barbecued spare ribs, or grilled chicken will all fit the bill here.
