Style:

100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo - Deep, inky, dark red in color, its aromas are of lush dark berry fruit and autumn leaves. Full bodied and well structured; there are notes of mocha and tobacco leaf, framing the dense, ripe fruit.

Story:

Torre Zambra was founded in 1961 by Laurentino De Cerchio. Now being run by a third generation, their wines are known for their well-rounded, easy to like style. The Montepulciano Riserva comes from a select vineyard on the Colle Maggio hillside, where yields are limited. Aged in large French and Slavonian oak tonneaux, it can be enjoyed while young, or be aged for a decade or more.

Pairings:

The winery suggests we pair it with a bacon-wrapped filet, and we won’t stand in the way of that. Also consider lamb chops or osso buco.
