Along with the intense berry fruit, think tangy raspberry and kirsch, there is a wet rock in the hot sun minerality that goes hand in hand with the classic garrigue aromas of lavender, sage and underbrush. The color of the wine is an electric magenta, so if it's a date night, you might want to skip this as your teeth and tongue will be stained. There is no getting around it. There is a lot of material in this wine.
