Made from Carricante grapes, grown on the northern slopes of the Etna volcano, Terre Nere's Calderara Sottana bottling is produced from 100% Carricante grapes and is fermented and aged 10-hectoliter barrels. The winery calls it "an intense, long, very long, majestic wine."
