Pinotage was created in South Africa in 1925 as a hybrid of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. It is South Africa’s 2nd most planted red grape. When made well, it is medium-bodied, complex and Burgundian with fine tannins. That’s what we have here. Aromatically, it shows blackberries, tobacco, plum sauce, tar and licorice. The palate is harmonious and the finish is clean. Pair this with barbecue.
